Simple Promise Farms

Located just outside of Austin in Elgin, Texas, Simple Promise Farms is home to an innovative program designed to aid women in their recovery from mental health, trauma, and addiction struggles — through the therapeutic power of gardening.

Members of the Grace & Emerge community are empowered to take charge of a section of the farm's garden, where they nurture various herbs. These herbs are then utilized to produce soothing teas and infused honey. This unique approach offers therapeutic advantages as well as a sense of purpose, responsibility, and accomplishment among the participants.

What’s more, the sales from these artisanal teas and honey are channeled towards addiction recovery scholarships, aiming to support those in recovery and challenge the existing stigmas surrounding addiction.

Brandon Guinn, founder of Simple Promise Farms, has said, "We believe in the healing power of nature and the resilience of the human spirit. Our program nurtures both, offering women a unique platform to rebuild, grow, and rediscover their inner strength."

Founded in 2019, Simple Promise Farms emerged from a father's experience with his son's struggle with addiction. The farm stands as a beacon of hope, embodying the belief that through dedication, community, and service, individuals can triumph over addiction. The farm's activities revolve around the principles of connecting, growing, and serving, emphasizing the importance of healthy relationships for long-term recovery.

Hill Country Intergroup

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem — and Hill Country Intergroup is their local Austin home. AA is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and there are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem. We encourage Grace & Emerge community members and anyone in the Austin area who is struggling to take advantage of the wisdom, fellowship, and support in these rooms.
